In July 2026, we’ve partnered with Melbourne’s Gospel Distillery to bring you a single cask rye whiskey — straight from the cask! Selected by Head Distiller Ian Thorne, this 200 litre cask has been decanted into a 25L seasoned cask to keep the whiskey fresh at the bar, and we think he’s landed a specky! Each online shop purchase will be hand filled by our team.
W&A Tasting notes
Browned butter, toasted rye bread, overripe bananas, spice and cola lollies layered with a fresh grassiness on the nose. Diving into the palate, there’s an immediate hit of buttery vanilla, layered with wood spice, caramalised tarte tartin (French apple pie), and a long lingering finish. Is this really 61.5% abv? This is a full flavoured, well designed whiskey to be enjoyed neat, and would easily stand up to a block of ice!
