The new independent bottler, Watt Whisky, from Mark and Kate Watt, formerly of Springbank and Cadenhead.
Watt Whisky was founded by Mark Watt and his wife Kate, both of whom have a deep love for whisky and Campbeltown. Kate’s career has been in sales and marketing at two of Scotland’s family owned distilleries, Springbank in her hometown Campbeltown, and Glenfarclas in Speyside. In recent years, Kate has been operating tastings and walking tours around Campbeltown. Mark started off at the renowned Quaich Bar in the Craigellachie Hotel at the tender age of 18 before moving to the big city and gaining experience at the Scotch Malt Whisky Society and Royal Mile Whiskies while studying for his marketing degree at Edinburgh Napier. He then headed up the Sales Team at Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky Ltd. before moving to William Cadenhead Ltd. where he became Director of Sales, with full responsibility for cask selection.
Watt Whisky is the first independent bottler to be founded in Campbeltown (Cadenhead moved from Aberdeen in the 1970’s) and we are certain that they will continue bottling some incredible whisky in the future.
