High Spirits has been run by Nadi Fiori since 1981 when he bottled his first cask of Glenlivet 1960 at cask strength. Now in it’s 40th year in the whisky industry, High Spirits has finally made it to Australia with the “Masters of Magic” range.
Nose: There’s a sweet fragrance about the nose, quickly followed and completely tied up by huge amounts of coastal peatiness. Hot sand and bagged charcoal. Delicious smoked meats and chipotle sauce.
Palate: Distinctively an Island style of peated whisky. It has deep earthiness and iodine yet retains a generous sweetness on the palate too. This is an easily drank peat monster, there’s no risk of getting burnt but all the peat is on show.
