Whisky Type:Single Malt Whisky
Release:Bottled March 2021
A richer and more malt driven type of spirit, the whiskies from Dailuaine carry a bolder cask influence like this Port Pipe really well. The spirit still has plenty of sweetness and mouth feel while the rich Portuguese Port cask adds a deep purple berry character to the whisky.
Nose: Candy rich! Killer pythons and white chocolate ice-cream. Soft waxiness, like a chocolate scented soy candle, followed by brandy butter and yoghurt candy.
Palate: Pear brandy, peaches and cream lollies and caramel jerseys explode out of the gate. Followed by a lovely toasted oak character and some banana bread.
Finish: Rich like plum sauce.
Hart Brothers can trace their origins in the licensed trade back to the late 19th century when the family were licensed victuallers and publicans in Paisley, the mill town on the outskirts of Glasgow. It was not until 1964 that brothers Iain & Donald Hart incorporated the company as Wine & Spirit Wholesalers and Scotch Whisky Blenders. Alistair Hart joined the company in 1975 and it was his responsibility as chief blender to source vintage casks of single malt whisky that were not readily available through any specialist whisky shop or online whisky site.
